Ben and Hannah Grist are the passionate caretakers of the Grist Family website. Both are deeply involved in their ministry work and committed to sharing their family values of faith and community. Meet the immediate Grist family, including Ben’s parents Perry and Ruth, and siblings Daniel, Nathan, and Hannah. Follow our personal stories and updates through our blog, as we navigate our daily lives and ministry work.
Ben Grist is dedicated to his ministry and community work, serving as a pastor in the Church of England. He and his wife, Hannah, are committed to fostering a strong sense of family and community spirit, embodying the values of hard work and dedication that have long been associated with the Grist name.
Some of the other members of the Grist family include Ben’s parents, Perry Grist, a retired accountant and maths teacher, and Ruth Grist, a Children’s and Families Pastor at the local church in Dorset. Ben also has three siblings: Daniel Grist, an accomplished Business Analyst whose journey began in IT Support and has evolved into orchestrating large-scale projects across various industries, while also nurturing the next generation of analysts; Nathan Grist, an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, with a strong professional background in industrial automation; and his sister Hannah Grist, a specialist nanny focusing on parenting and sleep training, working primarily with one family in the United States.
The current generation of the Grists of Hampshire continues to uphold the family’s traditions while also carving out their unique paths, contributing to their communities, and honoring the enduring legacy of their ancestors.

The Reverend Benjamin Thaddaeus Levi Grist
Ben Grist, born on April 5, 1996, in Portsmouth, is a dedicated and passionate young priest currently serving as a curate at St John’s Church in Goole. With a degree in Mathematics from the University of Southampton and a degree in Theology and Religion from the University of Oxford, Ben combines intellectual rigor with a deep commitment to his faith. He has worked extensively in ministry, including teaching and providing aid overseas. Ben is actively involved in the community, offering pastoral care and innovative digital outreach, alongside his wife, Hannah Grist.
Hannah Grist
Mrs Hannah Grace Grist (Née Long)
Hannah Grist, born December 16, 1994, in Chichester, is an accomplished and dedicated figure in the community. With a degree in Film Studies from Oxford Brookes University and qualifications in Music Theatre, Singing, and Ballet, she brings a rich blend of talents to her roles. Hannah has worked extensively in ministry, including an internship at St Aldate’s Church and her current position as the Ministry Experience Scheme Coordinator for the Diocese of Sheffield. She also teaches Music Theatre and leads worship at St John’s Church in Goole.
